About Sara Kohen Dean, DMD

Johanna has been a welcoming presence at the front desk since joining the practice in September 2013. As the first person you see when you walk through the doors, she takes pride in creating a warm, positive experience from the moment you arrive to the time you leave.

With over 10 years of experience in the dental field, Johanna has developed a strong appreciation for every aspect of dentistry. She especially enjoys building relationships with patients and making each visit feel comfortable and personal.

Originally from New York, Johanna brings a friendly, approachable energy to the office. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, spending time with her family, and caring for her lovable Great Pyrenees.

Stephanie graduated from Santa Fe Community College in Gainseville, Florida and has been practicing dental hygiene for more than 24 years, including 2 separate occasions that she lived and worked in Switzerland. Last year (January 2019) Stephanie received her license to administer local anesthetic from the University of Florida.

Stephanie is dedicated to delivering honest and thorough dentistry to each and every patient she sees. She is comfortable working with patients of all ages and believes strongly in the importance of teaching children good dental habits from an early age. Stephanie has been employed at this office for 15 years and has worked specifically for Dr. Dean since she bought the practice in 2007. Our office has all of the latest technology and Dr. Dean allows the time needed to treat each patient efficiently and effectively. Stephanie believes in education, for herself and her patients!

Outside of the office Stephanie enjoys the great outdoors. Traveling and running are two of her favorite things to do. Stephanie has a very close relationship with her family and is a proud mom to a 10 year old Silkypoo named Bingo, who most of our patients know by name!

Natalie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) with a long-standing career in dentistry. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she has been working in the dental field since 1994.

Her EFDA license allows her to perform advanced technical procedures, including placing amalgam and composite fillings and fabricating temporary crowns. In addition to her hands-on experience, Natalie also has a strong background in education. She served as an EFDA instructor at the Bradford School in Pittsburgh, teaching post-secondary students for over a decade before the school closed.

After that transition, she returned to full-time patient care in Pennsylvania before deciding she was ready for a new chapter. She relocated to Florida in pursuit of both personal and professional growth. Today, she lives in Daytona Beach and enjoys everything the area has to offer.

Outside of the office, Natalie enjoys spending time at the beach, being outdoors, and listening to music. She is also an artist who works primarily with pencil and charcoal, creating portraits and crafting unique resin pieces.

She has found a true sense of belonging in her dental home with Sara Kohen Dean and the welcoming atmosphere of the practice, as well as in the sunny lifestyle Florida provides.

Leah is a Certified Dental Assistant who has been working in dentistry since 2018. Originally from Colorado, she relocated to Ormond Beach in September 2022 with her husband, embracing a refreshing change of scenery and a new chapter along the coast.

She has extensive experience working with CEREC CAD/CAM technology, focusing on the design of precise, natural-looking dental crowns and bridges. Her attention to detail and familiarity with advanced digital dentistry help create efficient, high-quality results for patients.

Outside of the office, Leah enjoys painting with watercolors and has even displayed some of her work in a local shop. She spends much of her free time outdoors, exploring new places with her husband and making the most of the Florida sunshine.

She enjoys being part of the practice with Sara Kohen Dean and looks forward to welcoming you at your next visit.

Sybil brings warmth and genuine care to the front desk, helping create a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment you arrive. Originally from the scenic mountains of western North Carolina, she is dedicated to making each visit feel easy, comfortable, and personalized.

She began her career in dentistry four years ago at the front desk and has since expanded her experience into dental insurance. Sybil is continually growing her knowledge in the field and takes pride in guiding patients through their visits with clarity and attention.

She enjoys building connections with patients and finds it especially rewarding to play a part in helping them feel confident about their smiles. Dentistry has become a true passion for her, and that enthusiasm shows in every interaction.

Outside of the office, Sybil enjoys spending time at home with her family and her cat, Mr. Whisker the Biscuit Man. You can also find her relaxing on the beach or creating something delicious in the kitchen.

Laura is a dedicated dental hygienist with decades of experience in patient care and preventive dentistry. She began her career by earning her Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) license in 1999, working with an orthodontist while completing her dental hygiene studies. She graduated from the Daytona State College Hygiene Program in 2003 and has been caring for patients ever since.

She spent 15 years in pediatric dentistry before transitioning into family dentistry, where she enjoys working with patients of all ages. In 2025, she joined the practice with Sara Kohen Dean and looks forward to welcoming both new and returning patients.

Born and raised in Ormond Beach, Laura has a deep connection to the area. She enjoys spending time by the water, whether it’s relaxing at the beach or heading out on the boat to the inlet or nearby springs. Outside of work, she loves baking, trying new recipes, and spending time with her two daughters. Her family also includes a 12-year-old Standard Poodle named Chew, who keeps the household lively and well-loved.

Laura is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and informed during their visits. She focuses on education, prevention, and personalized care, taking the time to build trust and ensure each patient feels at ease. With a strong commitment to continuing education, she stays current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene to provide thoughtful, attentive care every day.
