Registered Dental Hygienist
I worked many years as an orthodontic assistant for Dr.
Thomas Cartledge. During my time in the orthodontic office, DBCC started a
two year Dental Hygiene program. After getting all my pre-requisites classes
I started in the third class, graduating in 2000 at the age of 48 years
I have worked in this office for 15 years. First working for
Dr. Robert Burch, then with Dr. Dean when she bought the practice in 2007.
My intentions have always been to give my patients the best
care possible. I listen to my patients and give them advice to aid in their
homecare. I am interested in my patient's well being dentally and
personally, since caring for many of them for so many years, they feel like
family. I like to think I give personalized care, working with each
patient's likes and dislikes to make them as comfortable as possible while
still giving good care.
Registered Dental Hygienists
I graduated from Santa Fe Community College in Gainseville, Florida and
have been practicing dental hygiene for more than 20 years, including 2
separate occasions that I lived and worked in Switzerland.
I am dedicated to delivering honest and thorough dentistry
to each and every patient I see. I am comfortable working with patients of
all ages and believe strongly in the importance of teaching children good
dental habits from an early age. I have been employed at this office for 11
years and have worked specifically for Dr. Dean since she bought the
practice in 2007. Our office has all of the latest technology and Dr. Dean
allows the time I need to treat each patient efficiently and effectively. I
believe in education, for myself and my patients!
Outside of the office I enjoy the great outdoors. Traveling
and running are two of my favorite things to do. I have a very close
relationship with my family and am a proud mom to a 6 year old Silkypoo
named Bingo, who most of my patients know by name!
On my very first day of internship in January 2016, I knew
this office was the place for me. Before school even ended I was lucky
enough to become officially employed with Dr. Sara Dean. Every day is an
exciting adventure working with Dr. Dean and I couldn't imagine myself
serving a better community. On a day to day basis I help patients feel
comfortable, educated and help Dr. Dean with any an everything. On the days
I am not at work I enjoy playing with my puppy, Oliver, and spending time
with my loved ones.
Johanna joined Dr. Dean's team on September 2013. She is the first person
you will see when you walk through the doors of our office. She loves the
opportunity to greet every patient when they arrive and say good-bye before
they leave. Johanna has been in the dental field for over 10 years and
enjoys every aspect of dentistry. She loves helping people and getting to
know our patients. Johanna is a native New Yorker who enjoys baking,
spending time with her family and her lovable Great Pyrenees.
I graduated in June of 2016 for Dental Assisting and began working with Dr.
Dean in July. My current role is in the front office working with patients
and insurance companies. In 2013, while living in Hawaii, I graduated from
Allied American University with a certificate in Medical Billing & Coding,
so I have the benefit of being able to utilize both degrees. I take pleasure
in helping, interacting and building relationships with our patients. Being
able to work closely with patients and help them with any financial needs to
make their dental experience enjoyable and less stressful is very rewarding
I have been married since May 2011 and we are expecting our first child in
May of 2017. When I am not working I am taking classes towards my bachelor
degree at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Any free time I have I enjoy
being outdoors, fishing, spending time with my family, friends and fur
